Ceanna Landmark
High school student in grade 12 at Princess Margaret Secondary
GET TO KNOW ME My name is Ceanna and I have a passion for helping and caring for animals. |
Hello my Name is Ceanna Landmark. I am a grade 12 student that attends Princess Margaret Secondary School. For our final project in English First Peoples we must connect reconciliation with a personal interest of ours. I am very interested in caring for animals and my career that I want to try and pursue after high school is a Veterinary Technician. I have always wanted to work with animals and care for them for as long as I could talk. My project has to do with how I can still use my voice to continue to help and educate others about indigenous people while I am going to post secondary, and how veterinary clinics can do better with reconciliation, and my ideas of how they could do so.

When learning about indigenous people, I never realized how much racism that there still is, and how it has made education, and other things most people take for granted that indigenous people may not have access to.
. While I have done my research within reconciliation and veterinary care, I have realized that there hasn't really been much done to help continue with reconciliation. |
I thought of some ideas that may help with healing and joining indigenous people into the veterinary world. One idea that I had was to use their medicines that they used to use in order to help animals, connect with the clients and their culture, and make the schooling more achievable and have more resources for them to help them if they would like to go into veterinary medicine.
